Posted in Browser, Firefox, How to with tags , , , , on January 7, 2018 by Sirusdark

Hello world!

First of all, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Today I finally figured out how to friggin completely disable those pesky Web Push notifications requests in Firefox and I’m now sharing it with you! Here’s how:

1. Go in Firefox’s configurations:

about:config

2. Turn off 2 settings (just one doesn’t work – I’ve tried)

Search for these two settings and toggle them to FALSE
(either Double-click or Right-click > Toggle)

dom.webnotifications.enabled
dom.push.enabled

That’s it! You can now resume life.

Enjoy!

Firefox Quantum or version 57.0 – How to downgrade

Posted in Browser, Firefox, How to, Internet, Knowledge with tags , , , on November 15, 2017 by Sirusdark

Hello!

Today, my Firefox managed to update itself to version 57.0.0, aka Firefox Quantum. The latest crap from Mozilla.

If you’re like me and hate it, here’s the link to downgrade to the previous version (56.0.2 64bit):

https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/56.0.2/win64/en-US/Firefox Setup 56.0.2.exe

No need to do anything special, just run the installer and you’re done. Firefox will revert to 56.0.2.

I am currently testing this new Firefox to get it to work the way it should and I’ll share my findings as soon as I can. Stay tuned!

Software Update – Firefox 56.0 finally released!

Posted in Browser, Computer, Firefox, Open source with tags , , on October 1, 2017 by Sirusdark

Hello dear power users!

Firefox finally released their new version and I wanted to let you all know it indeed fixes the latest crash issues – closing Firefox would close the app, but its process (firefox.exe) would keep running in background until it crashed.

This new version released 3 days ago (September 28th 2017) and since I only got back from travelling yesterday, well, let’s just say I’m not the first telling the world about it. :D

Enjoy!

Did-you-know?
Firefox’s latest installer now installs automatically in 64 bit. If you happen to install it alongside an existing 32 bit Firefox installation, you can safely proceed to uninstall it – your personal data and profiles stay untouched!
